Mission Statement
To promote the Creole and Patois Language
and African Caribbean Health And Well-being

'No, we nah talkin' bad - we talking Creole, my dear'

Come and support our two community girls as they launch their national campaign to promote our Creole and Patois Language. Co Directors of the Luton Creole Project, Theresa Phillips and Rosemary Artman, dissatisfied with the lack of recognition given to the language, will be promoting all 'everything Creole' at their launch from the language, to our customs, culture and food.

'We are proud to speak Creole and Patois. Our language is part and parcel of our rich cultural heritage and its about time we claimed it back as our own to be recognised and celebrated! Our aim is to elevate the status of our African Caribbean language and culture so that it is recognised in schools, health, social care and Government establishments. After all, it is the International year of Language so why shouldn't Creole and Patois be recognised as an active part of our culture!!'

Coupled with this Rosemary and Theresa will be continuing their excellent work as health promotion specialists to the African Caribbean community and will be commencing their Phd research into how the Creole and Patois language influences our accessing health and other services. So look out world our girls mean business!!!
